Thank you for taking the time to come by. I wanted to welcome you and let you know that I appreciate you spending time here very much. Everyone is so busy and life moves pretty fast, so I really do appreciate you taking time out of your day to check out my website.
I guess that it’s only polite to introduce myself isn’t it?
Born in Yorkshire, I began my career working in the art department of a fashion production studio. Over the years that followed I was a serial creative, training and working in interior design and floristry. After bringing up my son (a highly creative role!) I chose to follow my passion of becoming a contemporary artist, predominately painting land and seascapes in oil.
Now painting full-time, I use my visual memory as a point of reference for dramatic seascapes. Inspired by the many childhood visits to the North Wales coast and more recent family trips to the coastal villages of North Yorkshire.
My paintings are a simple composition of land, sea, and sky. These semi-abstract forms are a response to the atmosphere and drama that the constantly changing elements never fail to provide.
I continue to live and work in Yorkshire. My time is divided between my land based studio in the Yorkshire countryside and exploring the northern waterways on my narrowboat, which I blog about here.
I hope that you’ll join me along the way and I look forward to connecting with you soon.
